At ITSSH, NICU is led by a team of consultants (doctors), specialized in Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. ITSSH’s NICU is equipped with all the latest technology equipment and can accommodate upto 8 patients at a time.
At ITSSH, neonatal warmers and phototherapy is also available.
Other NICU staff include doctors, nurses, students, health care assistants, ventilator technicians, physiotherapists, dieticians, pharmacists, housekeepers, family liaison nurses, play specialists, psychologists, social workers, chaplains, interpreters and volunteers.
Conditions we treat:
NICU treats babies and infants patients with a variety of different serious medical and surgical conditions that require intensive care support. Some of the conditions treated at ITSSH’s NICU include necrotising enterocolitis, bowel obstruction and bowel atresia (eg duodenal atresia), oesophageal tresia, gastroschisis, exomphalus, sacrococcygeal teratoma, diaphragmatic hernia, bronchiolitis, and persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN).
